How to Write Clear and Concise RSummit ReportsThe main aim of a good report is to provide clear and concise writing for an RSE. If your report contains information that is too long or confusing then it won't be able to stand out from the rest. As you start to write your RSE you need to be sure that you are consistently writing in clear and concise manner. The best way to write clear and concise is to develop a shorthand writing style that helps you remember what you have written.It is advisable to use a very common jargon if possible as this makes your reports look more professional and sophisticated. Jargon that is familiar to the reader is always the easiest to understand and most efficient to write in. It should be accompanied by a tone of voice that is informal yet professional. For example: 'The concept of a tax treaty between the US and the UK has been effectively introduced by the Administration of President Bush.'Once you are satisfied with your report, it is now time to writ e it in clear and concise writing for an RSE. This does not mean that you have to have a grammar guide. You can use a plain English manual or just a dictionary in order to learn to use abbreviations and spellings properly. However, it is essential that you understand the format before you begin writing in the report.When learning how to write clear and concise RSE, you will find that it takes time and practice. Firstly you must consider whether the topic is complex enough to warrant writing about it in detail. A topic such as a tax treaty should not require extensive research to make an interesting report. You may find that it is best to include just a few interesting tidbits that will explain your point. This will keep your readers interested and enable them to learn more about the subject matter as they read the report.You should avoid using technical jargon in your report. People can often lose interest when they encounter too many technical terms. So when writing your report, lo ok for words that are simple to read and understand. Common terms such as 'peerless'tangible' should be avoided because they will only confuse readers.Next you should consider the format of your report. For example, is it all one page or can you break it up into parts? Checking in on Your 2009 Goals and $10 a Day So it’s already February, and I have to ask:   how are those New Years’ Resolutions and 2009 goals going?   Most people fall off the wagon 6 weeks into the New Year.   Don’t let it be you!   Most of us (me included) set goals to get financially AND physically fit this year.   It’s not as easy as it seems, is it?!   Well, I’m here to be the annoying person who gives you your February “Reality Check” to help you stay on track.     I was scanning my book shelf the other day to gather ideas for this post and came across Jean Chatzky’s book, “Pay it Down,” which I purchased at the peak of my over-spending days.   The book is based around the idea that you can get out of debt on $10 a day.     I’m a huge believer that debt and overspending can be traced back to psychological factors and/or personal insecurities.   So before we get to the part where we find that $10 per day, I must ask: How did you get into debt in the first place?   For many women, the reason is simple: we needed to fill the gap of what we make and what we need to live.   For many others, we had inadequate savings to bail us out of an emergency.   Lastly, many women have a spending problem.   Although society constantly makes jokes out of shopping too much, i.e. the new movie “Confessions of a Shopaholic,” it is a serious problem for many.   Retail Therapy is a topic that deserves its own post, but in the meantime consider if you may be guilty of this “disease.”   Regardless of your reason, identify it so you can stop history from repeating itself in your life!   Did you follow my advice and get out ALL of those icky credit card statements at the end of 2008?   What did you see?   If you haven’t done this yet, you need to.   You should know exactly how much debt you have, and how much debt you’d like to end 2009 with.   Yes, a number is required here.   You aren’t allowed to say “I want to have less debt and more savings” because that is not a clear goal that you can work towards.     Back to finding an extra $10 a day.   The obvious answer is to cut lattes and going out to lunch but for many American’s, this isn’t the answer.   We like to get out of the office and we have a Starbucks addiction, fair enough.   $10 a day is about $300 per month.   I took inventory of my own spending habits and wanted to share ways that I found  an extra $300 per month to put towards debt or savings:   Going out.   My biggest spending weakness.   I’m not at ALL saying don’t go out.   Live it up, have fun but just keep an eye on it and maybe limit the # of nights you go to the bars if its cutting into your pay check too much. Books.   I can’t stop buying books on amazon.com!   I suppose this is a healthy way to spend money, but I’ll admit sometimes I buy more books before I’ve even started reading books from my last order.   Perhaps I should consider going to the library for FREE Gym Membership.   Jean Chatzky says that if you use your gym 0-1 times per week, then it may be time to cancel it because you are wasting money.   This is a matter of personal values and choice.   For me, I can’t imagine life without my gym, but if you aren’t using yours consider cutting it. Travel.   Dont go unless you can pay for your ticket in full. Hair.   Platinum blonde is super expensive. Manicures/Pedicures.   Do you really need them every week?   You get my drift.   In order to reach goals, you will need to identify your weaknesses and hang ups.   I don’t want you to start living like a pauper who wears ugly clothes, has roots and never goes out-gross!   I don’t think that is realistic.   Find out what you value, and maybe have less of it.   If you really can’t part with being blonde, for example, find a way to spend less on being blonde, or better yet find a way to make more money (yes, part time jobs are GREAT!)  so that trips to the salon are no longer a burden you need to charge on your credit card.   I’d love to hear more of your ideas on how you can save $10 a day (or $300 per month) because I know there must be a thousand ways to do it.   I could use the advice just as much as any other girl could.   Please share your thoughts!

How Millennials Use Facebook for Professional Networking A new study shows us that Generation Y members on Facebook have on average 16 colleagues as friends. The fact that 18 to 29-year olds use Facebook both socially and professionally is hardly surprising but it does give HR departments and recruiters a great way to leverage Facebook as a platform to hire new talent. Dan Schawbel of Millennial Branding says  â€œWhen they go home [generation Y], they are still connected to the workplace… Their co-workers are their friends. And because people change jobs so often and have so many friends, their friends become co-workers. (Quote from ERE.net.) Some interesting stats from this study are that most Generation Y members on Facebook list their education (80%), whilst only about a third (36%) list their current job on their profile. The fifth most common job title happens to be owner perhaps a sign of the current economic climate where many people are freelancing or managing a portfolio career. In terms of friend count, yes the Gen Y users on Facebook are friends with an average of 16 work mates but that is a very little number in proportion to their total number of friends which is a staggering 696 on average. If anything, this proves that young professionals are open networkers on Facebook and connect with most people they know, not just friends. The question is really: Will they connect with recruiters? According to the US Department of Labors Occupational Outlook Handbook health care and social assistance is the fastest growing employment vertical. With the political changes happening that are affecting healthcare it is no surprise that healthcare professionals will be in demand.This includes doctors, nurses, social workers, medical insurance coding and billing professionals, dental assistants, and the list goes on. Brandwein claims that the healthcare industry envelops 12 of the 20 fastest-growing jobs and that healthcare information technology will be particularly in demand. Communications is another hot field for the coming future, particularly within the technology and network data verticals. IT training, network systems and computer forensics are all expected to be marketable degrees in the coming decade. Technology is always changing and needs not only skill based workers but those who are dedicated to learning and staying current. Tech jobs are not simply in front on a computer, a complete employee is needed for both customer and co-worker interaction. Business management and financial occupations are also expected to grow up to 18% in the next decade. In this area Brandwein suggests that accounting and management degrees will be marketing in the coming years. All of this projected information is an excellent source of reference in choosing where to invest your time and money towards education. When considering a school, Brandwein suggests visiting the campus and sitting in on classes to get a feel for instruction styles and class sizes. He also recommends asking a lot of questions of the institution about graduation rates, accreditation, job placement assistance, and career counseling. According to Brandwein, in todays career colleges, classes are smaller and the faculty members are often professionals with years of on-the-job experience. There is also more focus on career services, with college counselors to help you practice for interviews, work on your resume, and network with industry professionals when the time comes.
